3 INFECTIOUS DISEASES THAT ARE RETURNING TO THE U.S.

Many authorities thought that some major infectious diseases had been eliminated. But recent statistics show an increasing number of cases of infectious diseases. This may be brought about by: 1. better transportation, 2. expanded population 3. germs becoming resistant to drugs. Here is a list of 3 infectious diseases that are making a comeback.

1. Lyme Disease— This is a disease that is carried by ticks. More than 9000 cases have been reported in the U.S.

2. Streptococcal Bacteria— Some kinds of strep bacteria have mutated into a more damaging and stronger form. Some are so bad that they can cause death within a few days. So you should always treat a strep infection very seriously.

3. Tuberculosis— TB has spread among those who have AIDS because their immune systems become weak. Also there are more drug resistant TB strains around.

There are many infectious and non-infectious diseases that seriously affect millions of people in the U.S. However you can greatly lessen your chances of getting these diseases by taking certain precautions. In addition, if you maintain good overall health you can reduce your risk of contacting these diseases.
